We Extend the Life of Mature Wells in Loma de la Lata
Extending the life of gas fields once their maturity cycle has begun is a recurring challenge for the oil industry. Operational continuity requires revamping existing compressor plants. Larger cylinder diameters and the renewal of pipes, flanges, and separators demand considerable increases in CAPEX.
The Argentine state oil company YPF called on us to overcome these constraints in its mature Loma de la Lata field. From our company Galileo Rental, we provide a solution that combines the provision of wellhead compressor packages and the leasing of operation and maintenance services.
The formula has been successful. Currently, a fleet of 61 Microskid Process MX® compressor packages operated by our technicians produces an average of 3,000,000 cubic meters (m3) of Argentine gas annually, and YPF has achieved its objectives without immobilizing its assets.
