Sweetening of natural gas and biogas
Our absorption system with Amine towers allows for treatment of gases from different sources containing high levels of CO2 and H2S. This process removes such components due to their affinity with the amines, resulting in a very efficient process. Our solution consists of contactor towers where contaminants are absorbed and upgraded gas is obtained; and regenerative towers (in a closed cycle) where amines regain their absorption capacity.
It is noteworthy that removing H2S is crucial when utilizing gas or biogas as an energy source, as its presence may adversely affect the performance and useful life of the equipment used in the combustion of such gases.
As the absorption process takes place, contaminated amines are regenerated in the tower designated to that end. This way, the upgrading process is carried out on an ongoing basis.
The configuration of the amine towers – as other of our solutions – is made entirely to meet the customer’s needs, adjusting it to the required entry and exit conditions.
Not only is this technology applicable to biogas treatment, it is also successfully used in oil refineries, petrochemical plants, natural gas processing facilities and various industries.
