MX 200 Compressor

Modular design and easy configuration.

MX 200 Compressor

MX reciprocating compressors are characterized by their proven robustness and efficiency over millions of operating hours.

Designed and manufactured by Galileo Technologies under API 618 and API 11P standards, their configurations of 2 to 4 strokes and 1 to 5 stages allow to operate with:

  • A power range of 100 to 1600 bhp
  • Suction pressures from 0.5 barg (7 psig)
  • Discharge pressures up to 300 barg (4400 psig)

MX reciprocating compressors are characterized by their proven robustness and efficiency over millions of operating hours.

Advantages of our compressors

Maximum standardization

More than 100 models cater to the most varied combinations of input pressures and flow rates.

Low vibration level

The rigid frame design, balanced rotating components, and reciprocating mass balance reduce vibrations to barely perceptible levels.

Forged steel crankshaft and connecting rods

The crankshaft and connecting rods are forged from SAE 4140 steel to provide maximum strength.

Self-resetting lubrication safety systems

The absence of rupture discs ensures the automatic operation of the compressor.

Thermography ready

Large access windows to all moving components of the compressor allow for quick and accurate thermographic inspections to anticipate preventive actions.

More than 99% availability

Designed to minimize downtimes and maintenance, MX compressors feature modular engineering, enabling each component to be disassembled and repaired individually in the field without affecting the rest of the equipment.

This principle is applied to every detail and is supported by high-strength materials:

  • Cylinder bodies are made of ductile cast iron for increased hardness and feature removable liners to avoid complete part replacement.
  • Liners and stems are ion nitrided to reduce wear and prevent corrosion, extending their service life.
  • Piston and wear rings are made of PEEK and reinforced with carbon fiber, PTFE, and molybdenum disulfide to improve durability.

Direct coupling

Direct coupling of compressors and motors reduces consumption by more than 6% compared to belt-driven systems.

Controlled lubrication

A pump ensures precise oil flow to every point of the compressor, with forced lubrication for the tri-metallic bearings supporting the crankshaft and connecting rods. For maximum protection, each lubrication block can be monitored from the package control panel.

Large passage cylinders

The cylinder bodies are made of ductile cast iron, air-cooled, and lubricated with direct oil injection to minimize pressure losses. This configuration maximizes volumetric efficiency and increases flow with low load levels and reduced-size pistons.
